| Welcome to the latest edition of Mainsheet - the last for this season’s sailing. In this issue, we have the second half of Andy Weller’s final Mainsheet article, reviews of the August open day and Dart 18 open, as well as our usual Meet a Member slot and various pieces of club news. To top it all, there’s the chance to win a bottle of champagne with Chris Burke’s fantastic quiz. Please remember, if you have anything you’d like to contribute to Mainsheet, be it a book review, race experience, or your thoughts about anything sailing related, we’d love to hear from you. Just email the editor at mainsheeteditor@googlemail.com If you’re worrying about the writing, don’t be. We can have a chat over the phone if you’d prefer not to write. Thanks a million to everyone who has contributed articles, news, features and photos for Mainsheet this year – I would have been becalmed without you. See you all again next season. | |||

Free Wifi and Ethernet at the clubhouse Since May 2009 the Club has had a WiFi and ethernet network, which is available for club members to use at no charge. If you want to be able to surf the net and send emails from laptops and phones inside the club through wifi, you’ll just need to get the password, which is obtainable from the club. There are also two Ethernet sockets behind the leather sofa for those who have corporate laptops which can't be connected via wireless because of the lack of Administration rights. Traditional surfing, of course, is still available from the beach… |
